Well, here it is! This past summer my sister Nannette came to visit. I mentioned to her that I had purchased 2 lamps at the flea market and that I wanted to use them as the inspiration for Madison's room. I wasn't sure what color I wanted to repaint her room in. Notice I said "what color I wanted to repaint." This was Madison's room so I asked her what color she wanted...she said pink. PINK!!! Now, keep in mind my entire house is decorated in country colors...blue, burgundy, etc. I had been frequenting a few blogs that feature shabby chic and romantic country decorating and I thought...I think pink could work. First, we went to Walmart and found a quilt on clearance! We pulled 2 shades of pink from that quilt. The paint chips I used were from Walmart...but I had Home Depot match the colors. I like using Behr paint. The room was painted barn red and taupe with a snowman border. We removed the border and I primed the entire room. The next day I painted the entire room the darker of the 2 pinks. After I determined how wide I wanted the stripes, I used a level to pencil them off. I then used blue painters tape to tape off the stripes. I then rolled on the lighter color of pink. It took me about 10 hours to paint on the lighter color. It was well worth it!! I got the look of wallpaper for the cost of 2 cans of paint!! Notice her bedside table. That was a table we acquired from our neighbors for free when they were moving. Check back tomorrow to see its transformation! Madison was very happy with the new look of her room. Thanks Nannette for your advice!!! Thanks for stopping by!
